New Camera

A wee while ago I devised a plan to avoid jumping on the bandwagon that many enthusiastic photographers board. This is the one of buying more expensive cameras in the endless pursuit of the perfect image. I do admire the result these fantastic cameras can achieve when in the right hands but I really didn't want to spend £2 or £3,000 on a camera.

So how to improve your photography and continue to challenge yourself, on a budget ........the masterstroke......buy a supposedly poorer camera and see what you can achieve. Not just a cheaper camera but one that costs £5 as opposed to £5000.......So there started my mini obsession of buying old film camera. I've mentioned my addictive personality before...............

So for one of my latest buys I splashed out £6.50 on a 1974 Petri 7sII made in Japan. At 40 years old its about my age....cough...... and is in great condition..there endeth the likeness.

Although I took the photo using my modern camera, to stay in theme I put on an Olympus OM50 manual lens for a bit of graininess. Another £5 buy.....
