I was taken aback by the comments yesterday - thanks for all the concern. The camera is now winging its way to Panasonic so we'll see if the lens can be fixed or not. Fingers crossed.

I've completely forgotten how the Sony compact works but it will be back as my Blip Camera for at least another month.

Just before she started walking along this lane to school with her little brother and sister my eldest said "I love my life Dad -I go to a great school, I've got great friends and I love all my after school clubs and I love my family" - so that cheered me up a bit anyway!
