Bad Night - Good Day
It must be remembered that the primary reason for starting this journal back in mid December was to record the changes in my life following my surgery.
Last night (the fifth) after surgery was the worst. 2:30 and I was still not asleep. I was uncomfortable having to lie only flat on my back and I was too hot. So I got out of bed for a walk hobble around to cool down and give me a change of position. After a while I was feeling better so on a whim and to avoid disturbing CC I laid down in another room. Fantastic! I soon fell asleep. I did wake up once or twice before about 6:45 when again discomfort forced me upright. Thank heavens for the Winter Olympics!
Things began to get better as the day progressed. The day was fine if not overly mild. After doing my morning exercises (good boy) I felt I would try a marathon. Walk down to the road and back, a total distance of about 40 yards. Clickychick was going to accompany me "just in case". Right I said I'm ready and got the reply Oh no your not! Clothes on - check, shoes on - check, walking stick in each hand -check, door unlocked - check, no nothing missing. You haven't got your camera! I am only going to the end of the garden why would I need my camera! Just get it! OK! Short intermission to fit strap to hang it round my neck. Carrying anything with a walking stick in either hand is a bit difficult.
Well I reached the end of the garden and didn't need any camping places turned round and headed back. Just before I entered the house I noticed two shells we have sitting on a slab of polished stone. Having completed this marathon carrying a weight handicap I was determined to make the best of it. So balancing a little precariously I became a tripod (two legs and one stick) and grabbed a couple of shots. Thankfully they turned out to be usable.
Then it was back to good old George Bernard Shaw to get me up the two steps into the house. (If you don't understand look back in my journal 3 or 4 days).
The event was so successful that after lunch and some more exercises I repeated the marathon (well apart from the photos).
