The Healing Church

This is a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church built in 1992 not far from the border with the North. Inside you can see the crutches, sticks and other items belonging to those who have been healed after praying here. We come here every time we come to Cyprus. It's about an hour and a half's drive from Paphos. It is so quiet and peaceful. We have never seen anyone in there before today.

Today three ladies were cleaning the church. John helped them to lift a huge icon which they had just cleaned and put it back in its position. As always, I remembered myself and all my family and lit a candle.

As we left the church, an elderly gentleman and lady were sitting at a table in the sunshine. They were obviously something to do with the church. Although they spoke very little English, They stood up and called us over and welcomed us to the church. I was very touched.

No-one has ever welcomed me to a church in England.
