TEN FRANCS MAY SAVE MY POOR COSETTE

A disappointing end of an era.

I started the Rube pick-up just after 6:00. After picking up BT2, KP, Jac, Gerg, Micheal, and Brendan, we stopped in Town Bagel for some breakfast. BT2 is a terrible co-pilot, but we arrived at the Cradle of Aviation just before 7:00. Little by little, the rest of the team wandered in and we began to set up the machine. After about two hours, it was finally up and running working haphazardly. After the 300 Speech, Avery and I went to the captain's meeting as the rest of the team worked out the little kinks in the machine. When we returned, all we could do was wait for the judges to come around to our machine.

Of course, we didn't have to wait too long, because they judged us first. I had the responsibility of introducing the machine and giving the two minute walk-through. I proudly espoused the wonders of "Camp Goldberg", the attentive Forest Rangers, and the cheeky Campers, all while wearing my full Boy Scout get-up. Our first run went out of order, so we decided to void. The second run had one intervention, as did the third. We thought we did well. Apparently not.

We came in third, the End of the World Wantagh team came in second (congrats!), and some random team with a machine that was not particularly impressive in the least came in first. They broke rules, but I guess that doesn't matter if the judges don't follow their own rules. The other Wantagh team came in fourth, and I'm not happy about that either. Oh well, what's done is done.

I ferried the aforementioned team members plus Neb back to the school. Zach and I got Burrito Mariachi before the 2:00 show of Les Mis. Awesome show. Dinner at B-more Pain-rah with the pit, Jac, and Arianna in between shows. Back to the school around 6:45 to prepare for the next show. By prepare, I mean walk on the set singing duets with Erk.

8:00 show was a blast. I've loved playing in the school musicals and supporting such talented students for the past four years, and I'm definitely going to miss it.

I headed home straight after the show to get some real rest for the first time in weeks.
