Dam it, again
In the park this morning flood water was gushing from the tennis courts, which I’ve never before seen flooded, into the pond, at the highest I’ve ever seen it. A City Council worker watched and shook his head. ‘Where can all this water go?’
On the other side of the park a GP was on hands and knees at the surgery door spreading mastic onto a board just the right width to block the entrance. And down the path the Environment Agency had arrived to roll out the temporary dam they took down a fortnight ago.
