Blue sky and St. Mary's
A testing day, the two children seemed intent on trying to see who could wind the other up the most. Shame really, as they played really nicely this morning while I had a lie in.
Carys went to Church Parade today for the first time, we have been busy or away for the previous ones. She was picked to carry the flag as she was the tallest Rainbow there. She was literally beaming with excitement.
While Carys was busy W and I nipped to Letchworth to pick up our new nest of tables, now we just have to put them together. When I picked up Carys I was given the news that not only is the Brownie pack at the Baptist Church full but so are all the others in Hitchin and that will be the case for the foreseeable future, unless a new pack opens up. This does annoy me slightly as the Rainbow Unit she is in was only opened two years ago, so surely the powers that be would have realised that with an extra Rainbow Unit there would be more demand for places in Brownies? Why not open another Brownie pack instead of the Rainbow unit and then the kids would have just had to wait until they were 7 to experience guiding rather than this farce where they have tasted guiding, loved it and then been told that they can't continue unless they wait until two to three years!
After lunch we wanted to go out but being unsure of the state under foot of the places we normally venture we headed into town, kids on scooters. We stopped for coffee and then went into a cycle shop I had no idea existed. I tried on some shoes for clipless pedals and have a good idea of what I want now. W was fascinated by a video of urban BMXing on one tv screen, C by downhill mountain biking on another screen. She also showed Jim a bike (it was an amazing bike with an amazing price tag) she thought was amazing because it had TWO drinks bottles!
So far this evening we have been wrestling with packing up a rather large and odd shaped item for posting. It has taken a rather long time!
