Glasgow gold

Today's find was my precious gold Glasgow University athletics club vest. My career was a short one (translated: I wisnae that good), and only lasted a couple of seasons in the early 90s but I did get to train and compete on occasion alongside Dougie Walker and Hayley Haining. Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the Kelvin Hall were hard work, but lots of fun, and usually involved repairing to the Three Judges on Dumbarton Road afterwards for a few pints. Which may have been a limiting factor.

The highlight of my flash-in-the-pan career was being part of a medal-winning sprint relay squad at the Scottish Universities champs. A relay squad that got the baton round. Just saying. Maybe the beer helped.

I can't for the life of me remember what the bottom part of the kit was. I don't think it was gold lycra. If it was, I clearly have no intention of remembering it.
