Be sure that you spend your last sixpence wisely

This is the follow-up to 4 January's shot (isn't it terrible that I have a house full of interesting beers and it's taken a month to get a second crack at them!). The next of the Interesting Beers from V and I.

It was Jennings Sneck Lifter which I think sounds a bit rude, but according to the bottle (and summarised via Wikipedia:) "Sneck" is a northern word for door latch. A sneck lifter is a man's last sixpence, allowing him to lift the pub's door latch and purchase a pint, whereupon he hopes to make enough friends that they may offer to buy him further rounds.

Very malty and dark, and just the thing with LK's magic bacon and pea risotto!
