Catkins

We met up with the local commoners today for a bird walk. Not many opportunities for me to get my camera out as it rained until shortly before the end of the walk, so I was glad I didn't take my big lens. We did see a few birds in spite of the gusty weather, the highlights being a great spotted woodpecker and a yellowhammer. I grabbed a quick shot of these catkins just before we reached the car park.
