The Fire's Gone Out

Euan and I went to the rugby today with Duncan. We got into the town for about 1.30pm and had something to eat at the Alexander Graham Bell pub in George Street.

The game was one of the worst games of rugby I have witnessed, Scotland were terrible and England didn't have to be good to beat us. We didn't even score a point, we were beat 20-0.

The blip is of the pyrotechnics as the teams walked on, more fire on the park than fire in the Scotland teams bellies.

It was really sad to see just down from us a man was getting treatment from the paramedics, they were giving him chest compressions to try and bring him round but I heard later that they were unable to save him.

I think when something like that happens, it puts the game into perspective in that we were the lucky ones as we were able to go home from the game yesterday.

I just feel so sorry for the man and his family.
