Yay!

Oof, big shift around in the spare bedroom - dismantled the bed base ready to move into my room once the new carpet's down week after next (the spare bed was always more comfortable than mine so, some time ago, I swapped them. Didn't really think it through, obviously, because if I had I'd have realised that I only really needed to swap the mattresses d'oh).

Dismantled the desk and moved it to the conveniently shaped alcove on the other side of the room - again, not well planned as, though the top fitted perfectly, the desk had a metal pole to one side which meant that the rest of the desk was too wide. Again, d'oh. Had to remove some of the desk elements so, whilst it now fits into the alcove, it's not exactly sturdy. It's between two walls though, so how bad can it be? Oh, and the chair no longer fits into the leg space...

Dragged the shelving units around the room looking for the best space, put the other bed base down (fortunately a divan - I so need a decent electric screwdriver) and remade the bed, then spent 2 hours tidying away all the junk that I'd just thrown on the bed because there was no way around it (thanks to the aforementioned divan base, on its side at the end of the other bed (confused???)).

And look what I found behind the dismantled desk (no judgments about my cleaning standards please)!! Bought in a tiny coffee shop in Prague in summer 2012, I brought it all the rest of the way around Europe, remembered (re)packing it in Paris, then was totally gutted when I couldn't find it when I got home. It might seem odd to you that I was so miffed about losing a tea bag, but it was part of my journey and I thought it sounded so delicious and I was really looking forward to trying it!

So, last night I put on a fresh kettle of water (after cleaning it out because I'd put it on to boil earlier but forgot the whistler, then got involved upstairs and only remembered when I started to hear ominous noises from downstairs - I assumed it was Charlie up to no good, but no, the kettle had been over a full flame for around 2 hours - oops...). I got out my favourite teacup, carefully poured the boiling water (remembered the whistler that time) and took a sip.

Oohhhhh it was well worth the wait! Soft and smooth, with a sweet hint of caramel...

Anyone planning a trip to Prague?
