Minuit à Paris
Today, I woke up (in Paris) around 11. Late start which I was kinda upset about but I didn't let it ruin my day!
Went to a bakery and got pain au chocolat and a macaroon. Trust me, if you've never had a macaroon before, don't let the ones in France be your first. You'll never top it. (Oops)
So after a little walking we took the metro to the Louvre. Mon Dieu. It was so amazing. Too much to handle at one time. I've pretty much decided on the fact that I'm going to be back in Paris A LOT, so anything I missed on this weekend trip can and will be done on the next ones.
Après le Louvre we walked to the Lock Bridge. I put a lock on of course even though I'm single, but hey! Who says the love on that bridge can't be between a girl and a city.
Then it started to pour rain on the walk to Notre Dame, but thank God it did because there was a rainbow! We went into Notre Dame to dry off and see the inside and there was a mass going on! It was really cool to see that. I lit a candle for my family and said a prayer and then we were off again! After a crêpe, we went to buy shoes for the night because we are so fancy. I got some really nice black wedges.
Back to the hostel to change and get ready. We went out to eat near the Eiffel Tower because we could (when in Paris). It was expensive, but delicious. Escargot for days. So. Good.
After dinner we had a mini photo shoot in front of the Tower, once again, because we could.
Then we went out for some drinks and met some really nice people at the Galway Irish Pub.
Got back to the hostel around 5 to pack up and take off. Shuttle bus to the airport, flight to Rome, and almost everyone went right to sleep because no one has slept in over 24 hours.
Totally worth it.
Paris is beautiful. Freezing. But beautiful. I loved it.
