River's up (still)
Most of this year the River Medway has been in flood and today was no exception. We walked into town via Mote Park, which was also flooded in the ususal place, (see earlier blip) mainly to look at the river. Then called in a new cafe called Pop's which turned out to be very good, best coffee we've had out for many a while. Beats the chains offerings hands down.
Walked home and had lunch and settled down to watch the two rugby internationals - no referee to watch from the touchline today on account of all the rain in these parts.
Both games were not what I would call a spectacle as there was very little excitement to be had. It was obvious from the outset that Ireland were going to win. Wales were still somewhere over the Irish Sea. England on the other hand easily contained a mediocre Scottish team without really putting in much of an effort. And wasn't that Murrayfields pitch a disgrace?
In between matches I managed to make my signature Chilli, which went down very well later in the evening.
