What a lovely day:-

For New Beginnings

This is the variety of Rhubarb called Timperley Early. As the name implies it must have originated in the light soil areas of the county of Cheshire.

Although, as you can see, it is a very light cropper, producing nothing like the large sticks that one associates with summer, it has one advantage.

That is that it produces the first fresh home grown fruit (vegetable?) of the year.

So I am brushing up my crumble recipe technique in anticipation of pleasures to come.
