Signs of spring

This rhododendron at our front gate is bursting into bloom. It is an early flowerer but I'm not holding my breath that we are yet into spring, despite the sensation of warmth in the sun. It has been confused in recent years and has bloomed at various times, not limited to the January / February period when it ought to flower.

In a day of shopping and visiting and averting my eyes from the TV showing Murrayfield, it was this or an astonishingly empty car park at our nearby superstore at 8pm. This won!
