Birthday Celebrations

Richard's birthday walk was rather an epic. We should have heeded the local who met us at the start of the walk. 'If you're heading on t'moor flippers would be best!' The paths and bridleways were more like streams. The wind was into our faces and when we headed down into the dale to get respite we found where the water was collecting and ended up ankle deep in soft mud.

It did improve as we found an old trod heading back to Ainthorpe where the car and a flask of tea awaited.

A good hot bath revived us before heading out for a meal at the Copper Horse near Scarborough. Despite deciding we did not want to spoil our appetite for the main course we did succumb to the homemade bread. We always enjoy this restaurant and our meal ensured the day ended on a high.
