LIFE IS A CABARET

Lesser Redpoll (Carduelis cabaret) - what a great name!
A little bit of excitement at one of the hides at RSPB Saltholme this afternoon. I've never knowingly seen one of these before so here it is - sharing a feeder with a Goldfinch - despite not being a wonderful shot. I was having to share a very small space with people armed with lenses so enormous they could probably have reached out and touched the birds with them. Apart from that I had a really good walk around the reserve, and may go back tomorrow.
