She Rules

The weather was beautiful today and the kids had a day off of school. So, we went to the park and spent hours scootering around, swinging, throwing hoops, ruling kingdoms.

Upon my return home I was intent on mulching the leaves in our yard, then scattering them into the flower beds. By the time I got the mower out to the front lawn, I noticed the front left tire was flat. Guess I'll leave that for my sweetheart to deal with. I got out the chipper/leaf vacuum thingy, but after 30 tries to get it started, I left that for my dear sweetheart, too. Okay, my rake hasn't failed me yet, so off to clear the lawn until the last drop of sunlight has disappeared.

Alyssa came out to join me after she spied a mountain of leaves I had been perfecting. She instantly commandeered it as her own personal vessel. Then she asked me to hop in for a private adventure. So we are sitting together, oak leaves up to our ears, listening to the pretend waves hit the side of the boat. After a while she turns to me and whispers,
I love you, Mama.

Golden.
