Shelter
This grade 2 listed building was founded in 1586 by Owen Ragsdale, a local benefactor. Jesus Hospital was originally built to house 26 single, widowed, old men. There was an exercise gallery in the attic and on the first floor a cell where drunken men were held until they had sobered up!
This lovely old building has been converted into sheltered accommodation for the elderly married couples.
