Opening Ceremony

I couldn't help myself: I just had to watch the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

It was an impressive show. Whereas London 2012 concentrated on pop culture, the Sochi organisers went for high culture, which I have to say is a lot more to my taste. It's a shame that media coverage after the event concentrated on the only obvious glitch and pictured the failure of one of the snow flakes to transform into an Olympic ring as it should have.

I enjoyed it, and now I look forward to watching some at least of the competitions.
