Cold Snap

Small stream in Whatcom Falls Park.

What a busy day I had today. I woke early to get ready to play the last game of the bridge tournament. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw that an inch of snow had fallen. I took a few photos and then heard the phone. The tournament game was cancelled. Then while I was showering, another phone call. The three ladies I was playing wanted to play today anyhow. So I said, "sure" and went to the golf club to play. My partner and I had awful cards and lost quite solidly. We won't know if we lost our first position until after next Friday when the rest of the players finish. We stayed after for lunch. They make really yummy crab cakes and that's what I had.

I came home and both Arvin and Helena were planning naps after their long walk together. So I walked down into Whatcom Falls Park. It was cold and beautiful. The falls were full of ice built from the spray. This photo is of a small stream that comes from a hillside above the falls. I really enjoyed the walk.

I had a bit of time to do my blip processing until my brother came to join us for dinner. Then we all drove downtown to attend the Friday art walk. I have a painting in the Allied Arts show, so we went there first and I put in an appearance. Then we walked on down to Studio UFO because I thought that there was a show there. But I got the wrong month. So we walked back to the car and headed home for a game and TV to end the day.

Now it is late and I'm finally putting more words to go with my photo. Soon I'll be shutting my iPad and going to sleep. Tomorrow we have a blank square on the calendar. How cool is that!
