Guess what Birds have got...

Some time in the mid to late 90’s, my brother James was learning the guitar and was being very ably taught by my long-term friend, band mate, music enthusiast, fellow Blipper and all round good guy Ian Barnett.

James was a big fan of guitars and he and his life-long friend Greg were regulars at the two local music shops: B & T in Hastings and Bird’s in Bexhill.

Having visited one of the shops on a particular afternoon, my dearest brother returned with a spring in his step and full of the joys, probably having had his imagination captivated by a Les Paul or similar..

‘Mum, guess what Bird’s have got?’

‘er, feathers’, came the reply.

I seem to remember my brother not finding this anywhere near as funny as either Mum and I did. But then there are examples dotted throughout our lives where this has been the case: One, just recently. I can’t tell that story here but the Chris Moyles gig was brilliant and we had a fantastic view.
