Danmark

This cross-stitched map of Denmark hangs on my landing. As far as I believe, it was a present from one of my mum's friends (who she did her nurse training with) to my mum and dad when they got married (in ?1962ish).

My mum was born in Hatting, on Jutland, and was the 2nd daughter of the village blacksmith. My mormor came from Bornholm (hence it is including on the map), which is a small Island belonging to Denmark, but closer to Sweden. My mum came over to Britain in the late 50's and met my dad, and stayed.
