G is for Grey Street
Went into Newcastle today. Had a good mooch around the shops. Popped into M & S for salmon and bread - came out with salmon, bread, a coat and a top. ( Well there was a Sale on.)
Weather was bright and we had a bit of sunshine for a change. But it was still quite chilly.
For the Forum Challenge G blip I have chosen Grey Street. It is famous for its Georgian architecture. The building on the left is The Theatre Royal. If you walk down Grey Street and keep walking down Dean Street you reach the River Tyne. I have given my shot an old feel with a sepia tinge.
Sir John Betjeman said " As for the curve of Grey Street, I shall never forget seeing it to perfection, traffic-less on a misty Sunday morning. Not even Regent Street, even old Regent Street London, can compare with that descending subtle curve."
Neil finished work early today and has gone to the pub to watch rugby league on TV. His own rugby match tomorrow has been called off - waterlogged pitch. However he might get a game for another team whose pitch is OK.
