mill workers cottages

These Terrace Cottages were constructed between 1813 & 1820. The Terrace is one of the most interesting of the Industrial Revolution mill workers houses. They were built on a challenging steep slope.

Owned by the Strutt family until after WW II they were little altered and are now grade II listed. However in the 4 decades before listing the private owners changed many of the windows.

I liked the old van that was parked where it is normally jammed with cars. It's a commercial gardeners van.

Not one normally for mono, I have been encouraged by others on blip to give it a try :)
