Sad Story

This is the site of a lovely thatched half timbered semi detached cottage. There was a terrible fire about three years ago when the thatch caught light and the whole building burned to the ground. On the right lived a family who had contents and buildings insurance cover. On the left lived an elderly lady who had neither. The family have had their house rebuilt, (note the tiles this time.) The lady is living mostly in a small caravan in her garden. I feel so sorry for her, but, after all is said and done, she had no insurance. The moral: Make sure you have insurance cover, especially if you live in a thatched house.
