Paris Street Corner
We're back in Paris, distinctly jet-lagged, after a 4 hour delay due to high winds in Paris. I took this on a brief walk to buy a baguette at the bakery in the background (the closest one to us, among several), at the corner of Rue Tolbiac and Rue Moulin des Prés.
The display in the foreground advertises an exhibition at one of our favorite venues in Paris--the Bibliotèque Forney in the Marais. It's a library that's belongs to the municipality of Paris, and it regularly holds exhibitions on library-related materials. This one consists of playful illustrations to texts by Vincent Pachès; I have not heard of him but the show should be a good one--they always are. I will comment later; if you're curious you'll find the blip by searching for his name.
Afterwards we watched nearly the full opening ceremonies for the Olympics in Sochi--live with no commercials thanks to French TC (France 2). Incredibly spectacular.
Next day edit: If you do check in here, do take a glance at tomorrow's--I would ideally have preferred it for my 1460th. But this one is fine--totally Paris, and also worth viewing in large..
