The back parts

I got a train south before the sparrows had even farted and it all seemed to be going quite well until there was a long pause at Birmingham New Street. Turned out that there was "failed train" stuck ahead of us - it had failed while it was still across the points, so there was no way forward. Hence the train had to go backwards and take a circuitous route (via Soho? Didn't know there was one in Brum) round the back parts of Birminghamto B International station. It added about an hour to the journey and was definitely not scenic. (See above).
