The hills emerge
It was a cold but mercifully dry day today and during my walk it was really uplifting to be able to see the hills again, still adorned with some snow. They have been hidden from view for weeks now and I am saddened that folk coming here to holiday have walked the same route as I have today but without realising what a fabulous view lay beyond the grey gloom. In fact a friend has just emailed me a clipping from a local paper proudly proclaiming that this walk, which I am privileged to be able to do regularly, has been voted as one of Julia Bradbury's top five favourite walks internationally.
My trusty Sony Cybershot has now been sent off to Sony for repair as it has developed dust on the sensor and gives off a strange sound while attempting to focus. I am therefore relying on an Olympus Tough which I bought so my grandchildren could have fun learning to take photographs without my being worried about their dropping it accidentally. it is a great wee compact but doesn't have the telephoto capacity of my Sony - but at least I have it to use.
I spent this morning checking a selection of photos for the Lovers of Light competition and there were some really good ones among the 300 which had been randomly chosen for me to vote on. Good luck to all who entered.
