The Perfect Picnic

As were on the eve of midsummer we decided to hold Bella's First Annual Mid-summer Picnic ,this afternoon. So off to the beach we trots.

It's was a beautiful day, sun shining slight breeze, just nice. We get the blanket on the ground, picnic food out, dog settled after his swim and the heavens opened up.

So like the intrepid Brits we are, we just picked the whole lot up and headed for the car where we ate our Soda Bread sandwiches and lukewarm coffee, while Bella cried, we fought off the midges and the dog steamed.

Ah the joys of summer.

But we did park next to one of our wildflower meadows. Were fortunate enough to have a lot of these traditional fields which at this time of the year are just a blanket of native wildflowers.
