Heavy Rains ....

overnight caused the River Linnet to rise up and overflow onto the flood plain nearby to where we live. The top photo was taken at 10.00 am this morning and you can just see the fire engine in the distance pumping out the water which had flowed into some of the garages. We live two roads in and our houses are built about 15 ft. higher up so thankfully we are safe from any flooding!

The bottom photo was taken at 3pm on our afternoon walk so the waters had gone down considerably. Thank goodness it stopped raining by late morning and we now have glorious sunshine but more rain is forecast tonight so lots of sandbags have been delivered and have been put out along the garages and houses at the front. Talking to various people no-one had the water get into their house but they are very concerned about the rain forecast again tonight!

As you can see Bracken is keeping a very safe distance but no doubt there will be some of the neighbouring Spaniels and Labradors trying out their new swimming pool!
