Today my husband bought me an early birthday present. A new camera!

Our old compact camera is really naff, so much so that my phone takes better snaps. This time he has bought me a much better camera, nothing too complicated, but with a far superior zoom and picture quality.

Keen to try it out, he also offered to look after both children this afternoon so that I could pop along to the beach to try out my new gadget.

It helped that it was sunny this afternoon, and I managed to get quite a clear view of the Isle of Wight from Mudeford Quay.
