You can be anyone you want to be."
I went to the cinema all by myself! Shock, horror! It's not a crime to go and see a film by yourself, perhaps just a social one! haha! But there are some films that I need/want to see by myself sometimes. This was one of them.
I've realised lately that I don't really have a certain type of film that I enjoy most. In the past few months I've been to see Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Great Gatsby, 12 Years a Slave and The Wolf of Wall Street to name just a few. All very different to each other, but I've loved every single one! Even my DVD collection ranges from Schlinders' List to Maid in Manhatten! haha!
'Saving Mr Banks' was a film I wanted to see by myself because the story of Mary Poppins is a childhood favourite of mine and I wanted to see how it was brought to life in Walt Disney's 20 year struggle with writer P. Travers to give him the rights to turn her book into a motion picture. It was a funny and emotional film, full of adventure, 'self-realisation', determination and the constant reminder from Walt Disney himself not to give up, no matter how long it takes to fulfil a promise....
"Winds in the East, mist coming in.
Like something is brewing, about to begin.
Can't put me finger on what lies in store,
But I feel what's to happen,
All happened before."
