I like Pubs.

I like, real pubs. And I lament the growing loss of the same.
So I am indeed blessed to live in an area with several "real" pubs, and yet they too are in decline.
So, I like to visit real pubs. Country pubs, Village pubs and the town back street boozers, which are most affected but not singled out by this decline.
So what is it then, that sets these pubs apart. Real beer, obviously, but also the atmosphere. That tangible thing that separates real pubs from the Gastro Pub, sports bar, or even worse, the Hotel Bar.
Real pubs have feelings and have a story to tell, one only has to ask. Indeed, you might be the only person in the room, save the bar staff, and all its character will unfold and be available to you.
Its comfortable, recognisable and welcoming, from the warm greeting, to the luxurious real fire, to the pint of perfectly pulled "Real Ale" at the right temperature.

I find I drink less, more often , these days....
