SAMI NATIONAL DAY

...and the sami flag waves all over Norway.

Listen to the Norwegian Sami artist Mari Boine.

Not long ago I discovered that both my grandparents were Sami. On my mother's side it was denied and on my father's side it was never mentioned. I have listened a bit on the radio today and understand more and more the shame that has been imposed on Sami through Norwegianization policy. I could wish that I knew my grandparents as Sami the time they lived.
