Needle in a Haystack

I read this book in high school and remembered really enjoying it. Apparently, Richard Preston isn't a well-known author, because I had a hell of a time finding one of his books. He doesn't have digital versions for any of his books, either.

Granted, the difficulty arose from me limiting my search to Goodwill and Half Price Books, but still! I finally found this one at Half Price Books, and it was the only book they had by him.
