beach life
We've been to the beach all day today, back to our favourite beach shack that does good food and has a nice loo.
The Brits that all know each other were there again today and we got chatting. Big John and his wife Liz come from Salisbury and have been coming to Goa for 30 years, this time they are here for three months, they rent a 3 bed 3 bath house in Benaulim with some friends. They've asked us on their next boat trip.
Big John told us about a bull fight they saw on waste ground on the other side of their fence where there must have been 4-500 lads all betting on the outcome, apparently more than 2 laks (1 lak is £100,000 I think) was wagered on the standoff they saw. The bulls have to stand their ground, they knock each others horns and are generally belligerent. The one to win is the one that doesn't run away.
We think the bull in this blip is a fighting one from the red nicks on his horns and the shortened tail - don't know if it is docked or lost in battle. He is very well cared for, moving up and down the beach each day to fresh pasture and on his way back he has a bath in the sea.
