Bluebridge

Today's the day .................... to go from North to South

The sea gods were smiling on us today and provided us with near perfect conditions to make the crossing from Wellington to Picton on New Zealand's South Island.

We were on the Bluebridge Ferry 'Straitsman'. The sun shone, the sea and the sky were blue - and the breeze just enough to blow the cobwebs away. The crossing took about five hours and involved a fair bit of weaving in and out of the islands that make up the coasts of both islands. It made for an interesting sail because there was always something to look at.

So we are now on South Island - and looking forward to exploring what it has to offer ....................
