Hope Close

You certainly needed to travel hopefully in London with the tube strike today.

I hoped I would get to Stratford (East London) to teach this evening. As there was no tube I caught an overcrowded bus, packed to the gills with schoolboys, down Holloway Road to Highbury Corner where I hoped I would catch the Overground. But my hopes were dashed when the station was closed, no-one could board the train there. It was a 10-minute walk to the next station, Canonbury, where I was able to catch the train. The station was in sight when I saw this sign so it seemed appropriate as my blip for today.

They say that to travel hopefully is better than to arrive. But I did both today!
