Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

Lots of life.

It is that range of biodiversity that we must care for - the whole thing - rather than just one or two stars.

David Attenborough. 1926-

There is a fair bit of biodiversity in the photograph. Living on this small branch of a gorse bush there are algae, fungi, lichens, mosses. And those are just the things can are obvious. Doubtless, hidden or too small to see with our feeble eyes, there will also be viruses, bacteria, slime moulds, protozoans, spiders, insects and much else. Oh, and there is a lumbering primate nearby, attempting to photograph the whole scheme. (Just a lowly great ape primate, not a senior priest primate!)
