Calm before the storm.

As the dog and I went for our constitutional walk this afternoon, the storm clouds were already gathering and the wind was bitingly cold, but the sun shone for a few moments on the pair of swans on the river.

Over the past few months six swans have been killed along this stretch of river, whether by fox, dogs or other predators, I don't know, but their remains are still apparent, littering the river bank. I do hope this pair manage to stay safe as the nesting season approaches.
