The Dakota

When this apartment building was built in the early 1880's it was aptly named The Dakota because it was so far away from the rest of the city that people said it may as well be out in the Dakota Territories. @ 72nd street and Central park West it's hard to believe when it was built it was in the middle of nowhere. The building is most famous because it was the place, in NYC, that John Lennon called home and is where he was tragically murdered back in 1980. I was up here today after work cuz it was the day of the Chase Corporate Challenge in Central Park. I'm happy I finished the 3.5 mile 'race' in 47 minutes. That's fast for me :)
