St Francis of Assisi Vase

When I was a young lad we used to attend St Francis of Assisi Church, Garwood St, South Shields.
It's not there any longer. All of the streets, corner shops, church were demolished during the 70's and 80's.
We, my Mum, Dad and myself aged 10 years, moved to new council houses at Whiteleas in 1959 or 60.
What my Mum had left from St Francis of Assisi Church is this flower vase and many wonderful memories of day trips, mothers union, and the amazing vicar we had. Father 'Bert' Alderson was an air gunner during the war and was ordained afterwards and eventually found his way to St Francis as our parish priest.
