Class of 2015

I am posting to blipfoto for personal work and fun stuff but had to share this one from my portrait business.

Back story . . . I have been taking photos forever but have been in the portrait business for a much shorter time. I had the pleasure to have my daughter-in-law, Rosanna, blip.com/pbj, as my business partner. My specialty was high school seniors and families while Rosanna took portraits of newborns, babies, kids and families. (her business www.photographybyjacobson.com)

We learned, shared, and grew our photography business together. I recently moved and am now working to kick start my business again in a new town. It's daunting yet exciting at the same time. Even though Rosanna is a phone call or text away, I miss having that business partner and friend to bounce ideas off of, share the crazy photo sessions (and there were a few) and split the tasks.

(Where we live, high school seniors get their portraits taken and it has grown into quite an experience. Typically there are clothing changes, location changes and up to 2 hours of shooting.)

Since I knew NO ONE in this new town, I put myself out there where ever I could for my business. I met her and her mom at their local dance team car wash. Just a casual conversation with her mom allowed my this wonderful teen model for my new business.

Here she is . . . my first high school senior who will represent my business for the Class of 2015 senior pictures. She is a high school junior and oh so sweet. It has been so cold and snowy this winter I thought I would never get out to shoot. So she agreed to a shoot in the snow. Isn't she just stunning?

Finally, a shameless plug for my website if you care to check it out. www.carlajacobson.com
