Storm Damage Willow
The wind continues to batter us here in Shetland. Not as strong but still blowing away. A drier day today :)
I've been helping mam and auntie Carol pack things up today at grandad's house. Both granny and grandad have gathered a life time of stuff to sort out. Newspaper clipping, photos, toys, ornaments and a endless amount of clocks :) I've been given an old Amercian clock which my granny adored. It's now sitting on my mantelpiece and very proud to have it :) They were very common in Shetland croft houses and suits my croft house :) I just love the gentle tick of the clock, such a relaxing sound :)
With the high winds across Shetland lately, there's been minor damage to various places. A lot of fences blown down, fences covered in seaweeds, stones from beaches thrown on fields, endless amounts of litter washed up and now tree damage. This poor old Willow tree in Meadowfield Road, Scalloway has taken a blow, the big branch has fallen off. Think it had suffered wind damage in the past too but hopefully will bloom again in the summer :)
