a sleepy town below a small fort...
it was an early morning drive to Bongir - a small sleepy town below a small fort, about an hour's drive from Hyderabad...the town suddenly saw 10 unknown photographers arriving unannounced on their streets on a Saturday morning...there were lot of curious glances and questioning...but they were assured that the creatures with big lenses are actually harmless...it was a typical small town that could be in any other part of India...narrow streets, old buildings, empty roads with houses lined up on the either side, schools, grocery shops, tea joints - everything was very typical of a small town...and yet, it was so unique ...some of us decided to climb up the fort, which was on a hill and the rest (yours truly included) decided to stay back and explore the narrow alleys of the sleepy town...the people were quite friendly and co-operative...they told us where to find kids, schools, old buildings, shrines...we roamed around aimlessly on the streets for a couple of hours, shooting, talking, sipping tea or just sitting and chatting with locals...a Saturday well spent...
Internet was down from afternoon onwards yesterday hence I had to backblip this...just had enough time to load them up on orkut, flickr and refresh FB
a few alternatives from today (flickr links for a change)...
