Where did the water go

Not sure if a King tide has an opposite when tides out but I have never seen so little water down at the harbour. It was so low that a causeway had opened between Matakatia and the little island called Kotanui, people were walking on it. To show how low it is, the back wheels of our car usually sit at the nearest post when we launch the boat.
