Hike to Clachnaben
Today we boldly ventured to Clachnaben, an odd cluster of rock formation on top of an otherwise perfectly smooth hill. We went with high expectations and enough gear to climb mount Everest (I'm not joking), when we reached our destination we could hardly stand up for the strong winds battering us on the exposed tip. We abandoned the idea of doing any climbing, the rock was wet and too cold for our poor wee hands. We did however make the most of the situation and did a little abseiling instead, which is perhaps not what we had in mind but it was good to get some use out of all the equipment we'd just hauled on our backs for the last hour.
Clachnaben is definitely one to revisit in better weather conditions, I'm itching to finally climb outside instead of just doing it indoors all the time.
