Have you ever seen such a pair of goony alpacas?

It was a lovely meetup with great people. My email, advising wellies at the last moment, put a few off but the sun shone and everyone enjoyed themselves.

After a couple of hours of photographing ruins we headed up hill... and I mean uphill. If the paths I normally take up to the church of St Martha are steep, the one I chose to take was as steep as they get. No wonder everyone else comes down instead of up! No harm done and we all arrived at the top. Lesson learnt. I know my limitations and don't assume people I don't know will be up to such a feat.

After admiration of the view, and a few photos, we headed back down. They keep a large flock of Alpacas at Chilworth Manor and they came up to check us out. The dominant male has a toothy, almost human, look about him. His dam fluttered her eyelashes and pouted her lips to flirt with her audience. Both kept the rest of their flock at a safe distance. What do you give them as saying?

We finished in the Percy Arms for a quick drink, a snack and I was home just before dark.

On the top of the hill I'd realised that I'd left my keys hanging out of the lock of the car... someone, thoughtfully, removed them and put them in the footwell for me to find when I got back... thank you, thank you... there was also post in the car with my address and the keys to my house, not to mention the £20 emergency money I keep in the purse, dangled from the keys! All present and intact.

One of the attendees with more stamina than I, lost a nut from her tripod, climbed the wicked hill to the church again, and found it.
On another plus, we gained another member for the group on the way home.

Great day! Muddy dogs cleaned and tired out and I have to admit the day has had it's effect on me too.

Time for bed, said Zebedee!
